Vital Occupational Therapy is committed to ethical and professional standards of practice. The values of the organisation are:

Person Centred Practice:  We are committed to working with the individual in a manner that promotes client participation by actively listening to and supporting the participant, involving the family and friends, learning over time what they want for the life and in the future and partnering with them to achieve this. 

Relationships: We listen to our participants and demonstrate that they are being heard. We work collaboratively with other stakeholders to achieve more for our participants.

Wellbeing: We assist individuals to work towards a sense of wellbeing. 

Value and Respect: We respect and value all stakeholders. 

Vital Occupational Therapy respects the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of all people including the people who use the Service, employees, contractors , members, benefactors and business partners and is committed to safeguarding the personal information that is provided. Vital Occupational Therapy adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles (APP).

Vital Occupational Therapy will only collect and release information about a Participant with consent from the Participant and/or their Representative/Nominee, except in specified circumstances including emergencies or as required or permitted by law.

Vital Occupational Therapy collects information from Participants relevant to service delivery to ensure the highest quality of service provision. 

Vital Occupational Therapy will respect and protect the dignity and right to privacy of all Participants, staff members. and contractors.

All Contractors of Vital Occupational Therapy have a responsibility to ensure that personal information is handled in a way that complies with this policy.

At Vital OT we value feedback, including compliments and complaints relating to all aspects of our service and support delivery. It is an opportunity to evaluate and improve our service and to ensure our Participants have the service they expect and are entitled to. We want to know what we are doing well and what we need to improve.

Participants and/or their representatives can raise a complaint, compliment or give feedback to any Vital OT therapist. Otherwise, they can talk to someone else they trust like a peer worker or independent advocate who can pass this information on to someone on their behalf.
